Review By: A Kerensky - Jazz Trombonist Venus Purple Trombone- Review by A Kerensky (Jazz Trombonist FRSA, DipLCM)
I purchased this instrument half expecting it to be unplayable but was pleasantly surprised to find that it plays fine. The slide generally works well but could be smoother. The horn brace which is held by the left arm thumb and 1st and 2nd fingers takes a little getting used and could be a little more ergonomic in design as extended playing will cause fatigue.
An unusual feature apart from the purple lacquering :-) is the 9 inch bell diameter; I can?t say I?ve ever seen a tenor trombone with a 9 inch bell as this would be normally found on a bass trombone.
Having said all that - for the price it's a perfect starter kit.
